Recently, the 2009-2011 annual work conference and academic exchange meeting sponsored by the Expert Committee of the China Steel Structure Association and hosted by the Steel structure Company of China Railway Four Bureau Group Co., Ltd. was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. The meeting summarized the work of the expert committee in the past two years and the future plan, at the same time, academic exchanges were carried out on the construction technology and design specifications of the current international and domestic key steel structure projects. The work conference and academic exchange meeting, a total of more than 100 well-known experts and scholars from the domestic steel structure industry from all provinces and cities, research units, and colleges and universities attended.

In recent years, the new steel structure housing with green, environmental protection, earthquake resistance and energy saving functions is also getting great attention across the country. In order to better play the role of experts leading the development of the industry, the work conference and exchange meeting summarized the development history of China's steel structure industry, and discussed and planned for the future development. Hou Zhaoxin, director of the Expert Committee of China Steel Structure Association, made a work report to the conference, and the experts listened carefully to the report and gave warm applause to the work report. At the same time, the conference also awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" to members who have made outstanding contributions to the development of China's steel structure industry. According to the constitution of the Committee of Experts, the "Lifetime Achievement Award" is awarded to senior experts who have reached the age of 80. This meeting has two experts qualified and awarded, they are Professor Li Shaofu, Academician Dong Shilin, the two experts delivered the award speech, the experts with warm applause to congratulate the old expert award. I wish the experts good health and make greater contributions to China's steel structure industry.
